William M. Hutton, Ph.D.
Coach, Counselor, Strategist
Besides completing his Organizational Psychology doctoral work under Dr. Jeffrey Hunter of Assumption College, Dr. Hutton graduated from the highly acclaimed Decision Sciences for Executive Management Program at MIT. He was also personally mentored by one of the foremost minds in Leadership research and development in the United States, Dr. Jerry Bell of the UNC Bell Leadership Institute.
Dr. Hutton’s thirty year career included first-hand experiences as President, COO, and CEO of several businesses some of which were large publically owned companies while others were small and medium sized privately held enterprises. He has started-up.grown and liquidated several technology oriented entrepreneurial and family owned companies. His business experience, over the past decade, has been largely devoted to energy related products and services. Dr. Hutton has personally coached and mentored a growing number of high potential individuals for growth and change oriented organizations. Bill has also initiated and led local business forums, Young Presidents Organization forums, held numerous transformation and leadership seminars and conducted technology transference workshop events.
Dr. Hutton regularly publishes technical papers and articles for professional associations and trade magazines pertaining to organizational adaptation, leadership, and technology transference (some of which you can read on this site). He has been an active member of The American Management Academy, an academic research based association. He also serves as a Professor at DeSales University where he teaches Organizational Behavior & Design to Graduate Students.
Bill has been active on both non-profit and for profit board of director positions. Some of his more recent positions include: Community Services for Children, Computer Management Services of Southern Illinois, Direct Marketing of the U.K., RAAD Manufacturing, Bustin Industries, Manufacturing Resource Center, and The Ben Franklin Technology Center. He also founded and served as the forum moderator for The Christian Men’s Business Forum in the Lehigh Valley.
Bill was elected to the College of Business Hall of Fame at SIU and has been awarded the Alumni Achievement Award at Southern Illinois University. He is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the East. He has lectured on various subjects including strategy development and organizational psychology at SIU, Penn State, Moravian College and Lehigh University.
